All about the C-man!

I wanted to write an update on Colin--he'll be 10 months in a few days and he is getting cuter and cuter! He has recently started a great new noise--I call it "blub-blubs"--we all know and love the noise when you make a sound and then used your finger to move your lips, thus making a blub-blub. Gotta love the new sounds. He doesn't have any words, other than ba-ba (boobie), but he is definitly trying out all of the sounds. It's so different from Matthew--who would only try one new sound every two months... Colin also gives kisses, or at least I like to think that's what he's doing. I can give him a big loud "mwa" kiss on the cheek, and he leans in to my neck and says "ma." This is just the CUTEST! Colin also loves to play ball. He is very good at rolling the ball back and forth--he'll roll it when I roll it, and throw it when I bounce it. Matthew loves the fact that Colin can play with him, and the two will stay in Matthew's room for up to an hour, just entertaining each other. My other big excitement is that Colin is finally sleeping through the night. Hopefully it's not a fluke, but we finally just let him scream it out and it took one night--makes me wish I had done it sooner. Either way, Colin is a cutie, but growing up way too fast. I'll try to remember to update his various milestones, but they seem to come so quickly...

Bah, humbug!

Just call me Scrooge! I am boycotting decorating the Christmas tree this year. It all started when I tried to put on the lights. I apparently put them on backwards--I didn't know they could go on backwards, but yes, they can. Added to that we wanted to use faceted lights this year. Out of the six strands I bought, three didn't work. So I went back to Target, and when they plugged them in at the counter, low and behold, light! There was I feeling like an idiot, but after 28 years, I've gotten used to that feeling. So I go back home with my now working lights, ready to re-light the entire tree. As I take off the first strand, the tree falls on me. Jonathan is in the shower, so I must get out of the predicament myself. After righting the tree, I try for the second strand. The tree tips again. Okay, I'm going to wait until Jonathan is out of the shower to finish. So the two of us try and re-stand the tree. An hour later--no joke, it took us an hour to get that stupid thing standing by itself--I continue the task of taking the lights down. What do you think happens next...you guessed it, the F%^*ing tree fell over AGAIN! So I finish taking of the lights before we attempt to right the tree again. Another half hour gone, just from trying to center it on the stand. Okay, now it's time to put the lights back on...so far so good. I'm plugging in every strand before it goes on...okay, now everything is one, the tree is still standing...lets plug it in...the bottom strand isn't working. No big deal, its only the bottom strand, I have an extra, I'll just change it out. Okay done, let's plug it in...have of the middle strand is out...seriously where is the hidden camera?! Okay, lets turn the tree...Holy S*&% the top strand just went out! AAAHHHHHHH! I don't care anymore. It's going to stay out. Then two hours later, like a gift from god...the string magically lights up again...sorry tree...you've gone too far on my bad side to make up to me now. I've decided, no decorations for you this year! Plus with a 9 month old, it's probably better! So needless to say, we've been looking at pre-lit Christmas trees on the internet for next year!!! Here's a picture of our pathetic tree, with only a few decorations (3) since the boys wanted to help. Also here's an attempt at a Christmas card this year--you have no idea how hard it is to get 2 smiles and 4 eyes looking at the camera, at the same time!!!! Have a great weekend everyone!
